Three Valleys Community Foundation Awards 2025 Community Health Impact Grant
Expanding Our Reach to Teens, Families, and the Tri-Valley
Alan Hu Foundation received a Community Health Impact Grant from Three Valleys Community Foundation to fund the Mental Health Lecture Series, including expanding our reach with the addition of live Spanish interpretation during webinars, and upgrading our website. President Xiaofang Chen and the Alan Hu Foundation Board of Directors are grateful for the ongoing support of Three Valleys Community Foundation to support our mission.

Community Youth Grant
Youth Commissioners Support Mental Health
The City of Pleasanton Youth Commissioners unanimously supported funding the 2024-2025 Alan Hu Foundation Mental Health Lecture Series, and stated they would endorse a larger grant award had there been more funds available. We appreciate the generous support of the Youth Commission and Pleasanton City Council, and their commitment to youth and community mental health.


The City of Pleasanton provides a Community Grant Program for non-profit organizations serving Pleasanton residents in the area of arts, culture and youth programs.

Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance Awards Grant to Alan Hu Foundation
Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance (TVNPA) is pleased to announce the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund’s (TVNF) 2024 first-round grant recipients.
“We are so proud of all the nonprofits doing great work to positively impact lives here in the Tri-Valley. We want to shine a spotlight on all of them, so everyone understands their impact on this community. We are thrilled to be able to support their work with these grants, ” TVNPA CEO Kathy Young. Thanks to the generosity of this community and TVNPA’s matching partners, TVNF awarded grants to the following organizations at a check presentation event held at TVNPA’s CommonPoint Nonprofit Center, 164 North L Street in Livermore. Exceptional Needs Network – To provide an enriching camp experience at the ENN summer camp for 25 campers at Camp Arroyo for children with autism, down syndrome, and other developmental disabilities. Mental Health Connections – To support Connections House to help combat food insecurity among their members who are living with mental health illnesses. Alan Hu Foundation – To support the Alan Hu Foundation Mental Health Lecture Series. The series provides 8 webinars featuring experts in mental health. Little Miracles, Inc. – Funding supports their Fill The Baby Essentials Gap program to provide free baby supplies for under-resourced families that can’t be purchased at second-hand stores, such as cribs, car seats, diapers, and more. Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy PTO – Funds support the school garden remodel at the Marylin Avenue Elementary School. Monthly Miracles – To provide car repair for housing-insecure clients in the Tri-Valley to help with sustainability, housing, safety, and rehabilitation. Reins in Motion Foundation – Funding will support the acquisition of a new therapy horse for special needs riders and veterans. Teen Esteem+ – To bring school-based mental health education to area schools to prevent substance abuse, physical and emotional self-harm, and suicide. Ballistic United Soccer Club—Funding supports the Get on the Bus program, which provides afterschool tutoring and healthy snacks followed by transportation to local soccer fields for a fun soccer program. Sleep in Heavenly Peace – To provide a comfortable, hand-crafted bed and bedding to local children in need of a secure place to sleep. Pleasanton Art League – Funding for the PAL’s youth art show and competition for middle and high school students. Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal – A new security system for St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church and its Big Heart Garden. “As we wrap up the first round of our 2024 TVNF grants, we’re feeling really thankful and proud to have been a part of the incredible work done by so many nonprofits in our community. This year is also TVNPA’s 10th anniversary, and we’re setting our sights on raising even more funds for the TVNF grants. We want to reach even more organizations next time,” said TVNPA Board Chair Marti Sutton.

Three Valleys Community Foundation Grant
Three Valleys Community Foundation works with donors and nonprofits to achieve their impact goals through inclusive leadership, thoughtful funding, informed giving and collaborative action.
Three Valleys Community Foundation chose mental health as their focus for the Community Impact Grants in 2023. Alan Hu Foundation received a grant award to fund three webinars in the Alan Hu Foundation Mental Health Lecture Series in 2024. We are thrilled to be recognized as a vital part of the mental health network in the Tri-Valley area.
