Tuesday, February 17, 2026
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm PT

Kenneth Ginsburg, MD, MSEd

Attending Physician at Adolescent Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine

Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg will present his parenting approach, rooted in Balanced Parenting, and known to produce the best outcomes for young people and their relationships. “It is the security of parental love that allows young people to launch successfully into an uncertain future”, explains Dr. Ginsburg. “Parents’ open communication about emotional wellness and distress positions young people to be emotionally intelligent and navigate life’s curveballs. We will discuss a strength-based approach to guiding even a resistant adolescent toward professional, supportive services.” He emphasizes, “Parents matter greatly. Whether you have younger children or adolescents, now is the time to invest in building wise, strong children who will thrive throughout adolescence and beyond.” The presentation will be followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.

Dr. Ginsburg practices Adolescent Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He directs services at Covenant House, Pennsylvania, where he serves Philadelphia’s youth enduring homelessness. His research over the last 35 years has focused on facilitating youth to develop their own solutions to social problems and to guide adults to better serve them.

His current books, and a multimedia toolkit, all published by the American Academy of Pediatrics include:

  • Building Resilience in Children and Teens: Giving Kids Roots and Wings

  • Congrats - You’re Having a Teen! Strengthen Your Family and Raise a Good Person

  • Lighthouse Parenting: Raise Your Child with Loving Guidance for an Enduring Bond

  • Reaching Teens: Strength-based, Trauma-sensitive, Resilience-building Communication Strategies Rooted in Positive Youth Development (a multimedia toolkit for youth-serving professionals)
